March 14th: Holland Pouch

Make this great bag and learn skills that will carry through to other projects. **Class makes size large. 

Holland Pouch Supply List and Pre-Class Assignment

• Holland Pouch pattern (available at Sewing Box Quilt Shop)
• Fabric for pouch *Do NOT used directional fabric for this class (used to make quilt sandwich as stated below)*

  • Main Fabric-Fat Quarter

  • Lining Fabric-Fat Quarter

  • Accent Fabric-Fat Quarter 

• Foam Stabilizer-Fat Quarter
• One 20” (or longer) single slide zipper
• 10” x 10” fusible interfacing SF101
• Sewing machine which you have used before and with which you are familiar
• ¼” foot
• Zipper foot (optional)
• Size 90 needle (bring extra)
• High quality 50 wt. thread to match fabrics that you are using (Aurifil recommended)
• Bobbins wound with each thread color being used
• Wonderclips and pins
• Marking pen (if using a Frixion for marking please bring another that is more easily removed)
• Scissors (Sharp fabric scissors recommended)
• Rotary cutter
• Personal cutting mat (optional)
• A stiletto is highly recommended

**  Prep Work to be done before class:

1. Create quilted 17” x 21” bag body by following “Prepare Quilted Panel” step on page 3 of your pattern.
2. Trim quilted panel to exactly 15” x 19”, as directed in your pattern.
3. Cut Zipper Bindings, End Bindings, Boxy Corner Bindings, and Handles as directed on page 2 of your pattern.
