Sept. 13th: Drop Zone Bag By Annie

If you need a professional looking zippered pouch that is perfect for carrying make up, travel items, sewing supplies, children’s supplies, tech gadgets and more, then this bag is for you!  The pattern includes 3 sizes and we will be making the LARGE size during class. This is a perfect bag for beginners and all bag makers.  You will be amazed at all the uses you’ll find for this fun bag. 

You will need to purchase the pattern, fabric, and Soft and Stable and other supplies before the day of the class so that you can complete the required prep work.  All prep work will need to be done before coming to class.

You should get at least one bag completed in class and can then take your skills home to complete a set in all the sizes the pattern has!

Supply List: 

• ByAnnie Drop Zone Pattern
• Fabric Requirements:
  • Main Fabric-FQ (Do not purchase a directional fabric for this class)
  • Lining Fabric-FQ (Do not purchase a directional fabric for this class)
  • Coordinating Fabric- F8 or FQ

•  ByAnnie Soft and Stable—18” x 21”
•  ByAnnie Zipper- 24" or longer (1 or 2 slides)
•  1" D-ring, triangle ring, or swivel hook (optional)
•  Thread to match main and lining fabrics and bobbin filled with each color also
•  A ByAnnie stiletto tool is highly recommended 

Basic sewing supplies to bring to class: 

• Sewing machine w/cord & foot pedal
• Sewing machine ¼” foot or one where you can determine 1/8” and 1/4” seam
• Needles (80/12 or 90/14)      
• Thread to match main and lining fabric (40 or 50 wt. preferred)
• Filled bobbins
• Rotary Cutter (45mm is preferred)
• Scissors and seam ripper
• Pins
• Wonder clips
• Fabric marking pen or pencil, disappearing or erasable
• Ruler (at least 12” long)
• Stiletto 
• Hand sewing needle

Required Prep Work to be Done Before Class:

1. Following the directions on page 2 of the Pattern (General Quilting Instructions), sections 1A & 1B, quilt the rectangle from the main and lining fabrics sandwiched with the Soft and Stable.
2. Cut the page of labels in the pattern packet and cut apart and store in bag to bring to class.
3. Make a copy of the 2 ½” circle template from the pattern (you can use paper, poster board, or template plastic).
